Mentoring Surgeons: support, case logging and surgical mentorship
Mentoring Surgeons is a platform for the comprehensive support of surgical residents. It brings together, in a single app, the tracking of their well-being, their training plan, the logging of their procedures and their tutors' validation.
The challenge
- Residents' well-being and training plans had no dedicated tool.
- Logging surgical procedures and having tutors review them required a structured, verifiable process.
- The platform needed a subscription model and availability on mobile devices.
The solution
A mobile app with three roles —resident, tutor and administrator— and the following modules:
Daily well-being check-in
A daily five-dimension psychometric check-in, with traffic-light scoring and automatic alerts to the tutor.
Training planner
Annual and monthly planner with rotations, well-being dimensions and clinical resources.
Surgical case logs
Procedure logging with interactive trocar placement on anatomical maps.
Mentorship and e-signature
Case-log review, feedback and digital signature with timestamp and cryptographic traceability.
Subscriptions and payments
Annual subscription billing through a payment gateway, with promo codes.
Admin panel
Aggregate indicators, auditing and subscription management.
Project status
- In development, building on the prototype validated with the client.
- Planned release as a native app on the App Store and Google Play.
